Incorporated in 1984, the mission of Logansport Memorial Hospital Foundation is to provide direction and financial support for activities that promote health and wellness in our community. Logansport Memorial Hospital Foundation serves as the fundraising arm of Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Health care is an important part of our communities. Unfortunately, you never know when you or a loved one will need medical help. At some point, the care provided by Logansport Memorial Hospital touches everyone’s life.

Because we value health, we must also value health care. We’re fortunate to have top-quality facilities, physicians and medical care in this region. We have those advantages because people support it.

Logansport Memorial Hospital Foundation is a not-for-profit organization. The Foundation fulfills its mission by encouraging annual fund gifts, by actively seeking major and planned gifts and by managing a variety of enjoyable special events. Each year, community members, staff and former patients generously contribute. All the dollars the foundation receives are invested in the health of our communities – community grants, equipment, scholarships, technology, and the River Bluff Trail and Hervey Preserve. In 2008, the Foundation provided over $83,000 in gifts to the community and Logansport Memorial Hospital. Some of those gifts included electric lift exam tables, hydraulic cots for Emergency Management Services (EMS), and fresh fruit and vegetable grants for area schools.

We work with philanthropists like you – those whose lives have touched by Logansport Memorial Hospital or who want to support our mission – and use the dollars to support special needs and excellence. Your giving goes to the area you choose. Patrons may designate their gifts to any of the following funds: ambulance services, cardiac rehab scholarship, chapel, charitable services, community education, diabetes education, equipment and technology improvement, George W. Poor Family scholarship, trails, and general. Donations are set aside for their intended purpose.

A board of directors governs the Foundation. Foundation board members engage in fundraising and community service activities that support Logansport Memorial Hospital. A foundation coordinator administers day-to-day operations.

The Foundation Board of Directors for 2009 includes Milt Hess, Jeremy Ashcraft, Vicki Byrd, Brian Shockney, Vice-President Robin Knabel, President John Land, Gretchen Miller, Mike Meagher, Maureen Prentice, Brian Morrill, Secretary Shirley Crain, Treasurer Chad Geer, Michael Bowditch. Juanita Jackson and Ellen Kuker are not pictured.
