Memorial Hospital President & CEO Brian Shockney Receives IU
Kokomo SPEA Award.

award to Memorial Hospital President & Ceo Brian Shockney at
a recent luncheon.
Indiana University Kokomo’ School of
Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) has awarded
Logansport Memorial Hospital’s President & CEO Brian
Shockney the SPEA Public Service Award at a recent luncheon
on the IU Kokomo Campus. The public service award is given
to diligent individuals who have contributed significantly
to a city, county or non-profit organization in north
central Indiana. Honorees are chosen by the SPEA advisory
board, which is composed of representative from local
economic, governmental, medical and non- profit
organizations.
One of six
honorees from the Indiana university Kokomo 11 county
service area, Shockney is an Indiana University graduate who
holds both a Bachelor of Science degree in business and a
master of health administration degree. He is a Fellow of
the American College of Healthcare Executives.
In his tenure
at Logansport Memorial Hospital which began in 1993, he has
led the expansion in facility developments and improvements,
which included a new emergency room, private inpatient rooms
and a lobby designed as the hub for accessing outpatient
services, Shockney has also developed and lead innovative
strategies to expand partnerships with broader segments of
the community. He has also been instrumental in the
development of the River Bluff Trail and the Hervey Preserve
Nature Trail in Logansport. Shockney is also the developer
of “Health as Your Mission,” a nationally requested
innovative program to improve the general wellness of local
communities. |
