Logansport Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Services team has the necessary options for treating patients who need immediate care or true emergency care.

Sometimes it may be difficult for you to tell if you have a true emergency or if you just need to seek medical care quickly. The guidelines below may help you decide, but if in doubt, the staff in the Emergency Room is always ready to help you.

Ready for emergencies 24 hours a day

Logansport Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department is committed to being prepared when you require emergency medical attention. With a staff of energetic and dedicated physicians, nurses and emergency personnel, the Emergency Department provides care to the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The staff treats your immediate health needs from minor to serious injury, illness or disease. When necessary, critically injured or seriously ill patients are treated and stabilized in our Emergency Department and then transferred by ambulance or helicopter to a more specialized facility. Many patients are also admitted to our inpatient units for further care after receiving their initial treatment in the Emergency Department.

Opened in January of 2006, our Emergency Room was designed for the comfort of patients and visitors. It features:

  • 21,000 square feet (including Healthy Companies)
  • Central nurses station surrounded by patient rooms
  • Private rooms that are family friendly and convenient
  • Special area for Hazmat treatment
  • Trauma bay with four beds for disaster with multiple injuries
  • Separate entrance for ambulance patients
  • Lab next door for quick blood draws and results
  • Large, comfortable lobby
  • Bedside registration
  • Patient-focused care
  • Reserved parking near the ER canopy for emergency patients
