When a cure is not possible for individuals with a life-limiting illness, inpatient hospice care may be the best option. Logansport Memorial Hospital now provides inpatient care to help patients and their loved ones through the end of life with dignity and hope.
Through the generosity of the Logansport Memorial Hospital Foundation, three rooms on the medical/surgical floor were designed and furnished for end of life care. Each room has family accommodations, including a kitchenette, comfortable furnishings and a private restroom.
Registered nurses with hospice training will see to the needs of both the patient and family. They will maintain the established plan of care for hospice services, with frequent communication with the patient's doctor and hospice team. Chaplain services are available 24 hours a day in the quiet setting of each room.
