Laboratory
The mission of the Logansport Memorial Hospital Laboratory is to provide quality services for our physicians and patients. We constantly strive to provide the highest level of technical excellence and personal care for the patients we serve.
The lab performs a wide variety of clinical laboratory testing for patients of all ages 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We process all specimens the same day they are collected.
Reliability and Safety
From checking the patient’s armband at the bedside before drawing blood to operating complicated analyzer machines that perform multiple tests at the same time, Logansport Memorial Hospital’s laboratory techs follow strict guidelines for patient safety.
A pathologist who is certified in both Anatomical and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology directs all of the laboratory services. The lab is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). We believe the CAP industry standards we meet or exceed determine the safety and reliability of our lab results to help doctors diagnose and treat patients. Requiring our employees to be certified also shows a level of competence and knowledge that we’re proud to maintain.
Some specialized tests cannot be performed at Logansport Memorial. We use a reference laboratory in Indiana to process these tests. The results are reported promptly to the patient’s physician.
Serving Our Community
Our laboratory serves Logansport Memorial’s patients during their stay and outpatients in the community. For the convenience of our patients, laboratory techs take specimens in busy doctors’ offices daily. Specimens from physician offices are delivered daily to our laboratory for testing.
