Volunteering at Memorial Hospital

Our Volunteers

Meals-On-Wheels

The men and women of the Volunteer Auxiliary lend a helping hand every day. They serve Memorial Hospital patients and visitors at the Information Desk, delivering flowers and cards, dismissing patients, escorting visitors, staffing surgery waiting and performing clerical services for hospital staff. Various fundraisers throughout the year help fund scholarships for local graduates, as well as purchasing items for the hospital to help visitors or staff.

The Auxiliary volunteers provide invaluable services including staffing the Information Desk, delivering mail and flowers, and staffing the surgery waiting area.

For more information, call the Director of Volunteer Services at (574) 753-1304.

Delivering meals to those in the community who are ill, elderly or disabled is the focus of this dedicated group of volunteers. All it takes is willing volunteer with a valid driver’s license to help one day a week (or more if you wish), no weekends or holidays. Food is ready by 10:30 a.m., and delivery takes approximately 1 hour. After delivering the meals, drivers receive a free lunch in The Commons Café. A generous mileage reimbursement is available.

Want to volunteer? Please call (574) 753-7541, extension 2101.
